1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Cointify ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Cointify is a personal finance tracking application that helps you manage expenses, budgets, accounts, and lending records. The App includes an AI-powered assistant for financial insights and supports automatic SMS-based transaction detection.

Cointify is NOT a bank, financial institution, payment processor, or digital lending platform. We do not hold funds, process payments, or facilitate money transfers of any kind.

3. Financial Disclaimer

Cointify does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. All information, insights, and AI-generated responses provided through the App are for informational and personal tracking purposes only.

You should not make any financial decisions based solely on information provided by Cointify. Always consult a qualified financial advisor, tax professional, or legal counsel before making important financial decisions.

We are not responsible for any financial losses, damages, or consequences arising from your use of the App or reliance on its data and AI-generated insights.

4. No Affiliation with Banks or Financial Institutions

Cointify is an independent application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any bank, financial institution, payment provider, or government body including the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).

Any bank names, logos, or transaction information displayed in the App are derived from SMS messages on your device and are used solely for transaction categorization purposes.

5. Lending & Debtor Tracker Disclaimer

The lending and debtor tracking feature in Cointify is for personal record-keeping purposes only. This feature:

  • Does NOT constitute a regulated lending or borrowing service
  • Does NOT facilitate actual money transfers or loan disbursements
  • Is NOT a digital lending platform as defined by the RBI
  • Does NOT calculate or guarantee interest rates or repayment terms

Users are solely responsible for the accuracy of any lending records they maintain and for any personal lending arrangements they enter into outside of the App.

6. Account Registration

To use Cointify, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction
  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

7. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the App only for lawful, personal finance tracking purposes
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or exploit the App
  • Not use the App to store false, misleading, or fraudulent financial information
  • Not use the AI assistant for purposes other than personal financial queries

8. SMS Permission

Cointify may request permission to read SMS messages on your device. This permission is:

  • Voluntary — the App functions fully without it
  • Limited — used solely to detect bank transaction notifications
  • Local — SMS data is processed on your device and not sent to our servers
  • Revocable — you can withdraw this permission at any time via device settings

9. AI Assistant

The AI financial assistant is powered by Anthropic's Claude AI. By using the assistant:

  • You acknowledge that your messages are sent to a third-party AI service for processing
  • You understand that AI-generated responses are informational only and do not constitute financial advice
  • You agree not to hold Cointify liable for any actions taken based on AI-generated responses

AI responses may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete. Always verify important financial information independently.

10. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the App (Settings → Delete Account). Upon deletion:

  • All your personal and financial data will be permanently removed from our servers within 30 days
  • Local data on your device will be cleared immediately
  • This action is irreversible — deleted data cannot be recovered

11. Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as-is" and "as-available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cointify and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses, arising from your use of or inability to use the App.

12. Intellectual Property

The Cointify name, logo, design, and all content within the App are the intellectual property of Cointify. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our prior written consent.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in New Delhi, India.

14. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date and notify you via an in-app notice. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
